One in three young people in the UK believe that AI will help them become more emotionally intelligent. Yet going by recent headlines, AI is responsible for a range of societal ills from killer of jobs to destroyer of democracy and freedom of thought. What duty do we have to progress society emotionally as well as technologically and how should we navigate the path? Do we risk eroding emotional intelligence in the race for ever greater speed and simplicity? What's the case for EI over AI?
