This report investigates how information-based regulation (IRB) is used, as well as its effectiveness, in the areas of food, environment and energy.

Schemes that involve IRB use information to push for behavioural changes in order to achieve policy objectives and this report presents three cases as examples of IRB in the policy areas investigated. It also covers the many roles that regulators have in order to ensure compliance with regulations.

This report presents the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s view point on the approach to Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) technology research and development.

The use of RAI could make the process of nuclear decommissioning cheaper, safer, more efficient and reduce impact on the environment but further research and development is required.
